2nd Shift Plant Maintenance Mechanic Full Time

Darling Ingredients is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at our plant located in Terre Hill, PA. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing plant equipment and machinery, in order to ensure safe, timely and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment. 

This position is scheduled to work 2nd shift.

Job Summary: 

Under supervision, maintains, repairs, and installs plant equipment and machinery, in order to ensure safe, timely and efficient operation of all plant machinery and equipment. 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

• Maintain all plant equipment to ensure safe, continual and efficient operation. 
• Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are accomplished according to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager’s direction. 
• Comply with all safety and good Manufacturing practices. 
• Repairs or replaces defective parts. 
• Expected to perform other job duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or certificate from trade school preferred. 
• Ability to read and write on a 9th grade level required.  
• Analytical thinking skills, problem solving ability required. 
• Good verbal and written communication skills. 
• Good computer application skills in a network environment. 
• Able to read blueprints, preferred. 
• Experience in screw conveyor operation and repair, gear box and motor operation and repair, and general industrial troubleshooting. 
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills. 

Physical Demands: 

• Must be able to climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 100 pounds. 
• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time. 
• Able to climb ladders and stairs working at heights of 40 feet or more using proper PPE. 

Work Environment: 

• Hot and wet industrial plant environment. 
• Must be able to deal with strong odors. 
• Must be willing to work all shifts including over-time and weekend work as needed.
